Geri, Betty, and Ana met while working on the frontlines for a GBV shelter in Peel. Over time and, with much conversation, we recognized gaps in the system that needed to be addressed for a specific age group of survivors of intimate partner and gender-based violence.

Driven by a shared vision, we came together to conduct research and, through thoughtful and intentional planning, established a framework for our organization. Guided by integrity, compassion, and a commitment to creating a sense of belonging, Heart and Home Transitional Housing Shelter 55+ was founded — a safe haven for a fresh start!
