Opening Spring 2025!
*Our services are scheduled to begin in Spring 2025.
At Heart and Home, we provide advocacy, safety planning, transitional and permanent housing support, and other resources to help residents end abuse in their lives and gain access to critically important community resources. We also actively advocate and provide public education throughout the Peel Region by organizing events, workshops, and learning initiatives to raise awareness and encourage action to stop violence against women.
When folks move into Heart and Home, they can expect to receive the following supports:
Crisis Support and Resources: We offer immediate assistance to those facing crisis situations, providing essential resources and guidance.
Risk Assessments and Safety Planning: Our team conducts thorough risk assessments and helps women create personalized safety plans to navigate challenging circumstances.
Systems Navigation: We guide survivors through intricate systems such as family and criminal legal processes, housing, income support, child welfare, and health services.
Education and Violence Prevention Programs: Heart and Home implements proactive programs (individual and groups) using various modalities (CBT, Mindfulness, Narrative, DBT, etc.) aimed at preventing violence and promoting healthy relationships.
For all women and gender-diverse individuals, 55+ years of age or older, living in Peel Region who are impacted by gender-based violence, this program provides information, options, and decision making support to increase their safety and the safety of their children.
